Alljoyn Router Service: Is It Malicious?

There have been reports that some users of the Windows 10 operating system are finding a certain type of services at its core and it is named Alljoyn Router Service. What is it and does it have to be inside the Windows 10 OS?

What is the Alljoyn Router Service?

The Alljoyn router service is an open source project from AllSeen Alliance that makes it possible for the Windows 10 platform to communicate with other services using the internet of things (IoT). It basically makes it easier for other devices running different hardware and even different operating system to process information and understands that information despite the platform variability.

Is it safe?

Yes, it is definitely safe. Since the AllJoyn Router Service was just recently discovered by some numbers of Windows 10 users, a lot of them have been worried about its origin. It is normal since new and unidentified things are often sketchy. But since Microsoft has released a statement that it is for the purpose of making IoT more heterogeneous within the Windows 10 platform.

Is it important?

The answer to this question is yes and no. Yes if it is involved in your tasks or your work requires the AllJoyn service. But the majority of Windows 10 users do not really have any specific use for it yet. Base on Microsoft’s statement, it is only for those industry-related areas.
